In wake of the school environment this academic year, it would be best to not have finals. Midterms were already canceled for similar reasons and students are not fully yet in the right space to engage in intensive exams accompanied by the regents exams. Just like with online learning, the current situation is taking a heavy toll on the grades and averages of students. Most students are juggling between so many stressors that they are unable to perform as well as they would have during a normal school year. For the sake and well-being of the mental of Francis Lewis High School students, it would be best to have finals canceled for this school year.
