Why this petition matters

Started by Nickolas Duperron

Canadians should be able to voice there opinions as a whole to local government in canada. The only legitimate way to create a petition in Canada is to voice it to the federal government, this is an impossibility with provincial and municipal issues.

Canadians should not be hindered by red tape with our right to free expression. The only way change can be created is when the people's voices are heard.

We ask for:

- localized petitions (for provincial, municipal and regional district matters) to be recognized as legitimate by law in Canada

- the ability to petition the Canadian government for funding related to roads and governemnt infrastructure

- a reformation of the way petitions are handled. Some petitions should be legitimate even if they regard a grievance or funding. They are the way in which people are capable of expressing themselves as a community.

We have more then just a right to free expression, we have a responsibility to it. It is our duty to ensure the voices of tomorrow can be heard and so far local governments have no way of hearing them.

Allowing us to stand together with a legitimate plea to our local governments is the only way localized problems can be solved and these problems need solving now.
