Canadian historian Norm Christie had embarked to recover 44 corpses of Canadian soldiers who fought and died in the Battle of Vimy Ridge that were buried in a mass grave which exact location is unknown. In the third day of searching for the 44 bodies, Norm’s dig was halted by the French Government, who used a law that was implemented during the Second World War by Nazi Occupied France to discourage French resistance.
The families of these lost soldiers want closure and a proper burial for their loved ones, just like all the other soldiers who had died. What if one of those soldiers was related to you, what if one of those soldiers was your father?
We are asking the Canadian Government to take immediate action and demand that the French Government allow Norm Christie to continue digging to recover the heroic men who died during the battle of Vimy Ridge.
