We, the undersigned, call upon you, to make the following amendments to Bill C-14:

Remove the requirement of natural death being reasonably foreseeable.

Require competency to be proven only on the initiation of the request for medical
aid in dying.

Legalize advance requests for medical aid in dying for those with a competency-eroding illness, including Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.

Legalize advance requests for medical aid in dying for those who may experience a
catastrophic event leading to loss of competency, such as a stroke or an accident.
