Children have daily recess time taken away currently based on teacher’s prerogative. Reasoning varies from disrespect to not turning in homework. With the current mask mandate our children are forced to remain in their classroom all day, even eating in their room. Fresh air and exercise are integral parts of a child’s development. Children need this time daily and in addition to the physical and emotional benefits fresh air is needed to aid in the defense against Covid and other illnesses. There are a multitude of disciplinary actions available that aren’t detrimental to our children’s health and well being.
