I'm signing this petition because of the lack of foresight it shows. Campbell has a lovely community which is very supportive of each other, and many of the local families have grown up together. Security is built through community. We also know that any building over 3 storeys is not energy efficient. We also know that Large trees are our best solution for cooling communities and sequestering carbon, large trees need space, not only for themselves, but for the succession plants to support them.
I believe the current zoning changes are insane and a money grab by a government lacking innovation and will cost a lot more in time than any financial gains made now. Mental health issues will soar, health issues, air conditioning and the heat they output, lack of physical safety due to poor planning and the complexities of peoples movements, on foot, by car, or other wheels.

We have to demonstrate that Canberrans are not going to stand by and see their unique city wrecked. RZ2 is just the beginning in Campbell, ACT Govt is intent on revising zoning. Campbell has done its bit at Canberra 5 and elsewhere to increase urban density. Being so central we are going to be under increasing pressure to densify and must resist to maintain the garden city character of the inner city suburbs.

The planning guidelines and laws of the Canberra now mean nothing. They are changed every few years so you have no certainty as what will be allowed around your suburb. Whose to say the Govt won't extend this next year to something else - and its always to help them make money and nothing that assists the people who live in Campbell

I have been appalled at the degrading of our quiet and historically-significant streets through policies that have allowed unnecessary higher-density development. This proposal offers a sensible compromise.

I don't want the amenity of our unique suburb to be further destroyed by infill and overpopulation. We already have a traffic and parking problem and it needs to stop.

I want Canberra to retain its character. Campbell is a beautiful suburb which displays the character of our wonderful city, don’t destroy our history
