Here at Camp Pontiac we are under staffed and working extremely long hours with very little pay. The current base payment for General and Specialist Counselors is $2,100 - 2,200 plus performance bonus for 8 weeks, 6 days a week and 17 hour days. Because of the current circumstances we are demanding to be compensated fairly. We as staff members (General & Specialist as well as domestic & international) of Camp Pontiac are demanding that our base pay be increased to $4,000 plus bonuses. Given that more people seem to be quitting each day, the work load of the remaining staff keeps increasing. We want the camp to have a successful summer, both for the campers and the staff, however, this cannot happen if staff keep leaving. Due to this fact, a larger incentive to stay is necessary, for as stated earlier, the more that staff members leave, the more work there is, which equates to a greater the incentive to leave.
