R Fellows started this petition to Camden Council

Without public consultation and with no explanation, Camden Council has removed about 30 resident parking spaces in Fellows Road and Winchester Road and replaced them with double yellow lines.

At the same time, two car parks at the Chalcot Estate have been closed for the tower block recladding works.

Notification was provided locally that these building works would require the suspension of resident bays for deliveries between 8am - 5pm. Presumably any works vehicles would be subject to the same parking restrictions as local residents and would therefore not be allowed to stop on the double yellow lines. Does this mean further resident bays will need to be suspended to accommodate works traffic?

Additionally, Camden Council are proposing removing a further 2 resident spaces on Kings College Road for the installation of bike racks.

As I'm sure you know, parking is already beyond difficult in the area. With the increased demand for spaces from the residents in the Chalcots Estate and the loss of at least 30 spaces, it is becoming impossible to find somewhere to park. We pay a lot of money for residents parking and should be able to park near our homes.  This is not good enough!

Please help us petition against the double yellow lines and push for the reintroduction of all the resident parking spaces.

If the decision to introduce them is related to the planned building works at the Chalcots Estate, then the resident bays could simply be suspended Monday to Friday from 8am - 5pm, as they were during phase 1 of the works when the cladding was removed.
