The Swaffham Prior Village Green at the bottom of Cage Hill has been blighted by the installation of a large "length restriction" vehicle warning sign. The sign has been erected by Cambridgeshire County Council Highways without consultation with the Parish Council and community. We object to the siting of this vehicle size restriction sign and demand that it be re-sited using a sign which is in keeping with the alternative location. The current location of the sign is within our village conservation area, has been put up on private land without the owner's permission and is an eyesore, totally inappropriate for the location. We demand it is removed and the County Council Highways engages with the Parish Council to agree an alternative siting and design."
