Keep the remaining trees on Station Road

I have lived in Cambridge all my life and in recent years have seen many of the established trees in the station area removed with the new station development. I am not averse to change but would like planners to ensure that the remaining trees in the area are retained where possible.
Station Road used to be lined by trees but recent development has seen many of these older trees being cut down. There are now plans to take down the two office blocks known as Leda House and Jupiter House on the north side of Station Road and for a new single six storey office block to be erected on the site. The current plan involves removing the mature roadside trees outside the current buildings which would be a real shame.
In my view the plans for new buildings should provide for the trees to be retained. The area needs some trees to cope with the pollution of the Cambridge station traffic and to enhance the environment for all. Tourists don’t come to Cambridge to see a row of office blocks.
Please support this petition if you agree the trees should be saved.
