Cambridge demands the right to self determination in regards to SIS mandated by the Region

The Waterloo Region has mandated the creation of SIS locations throughout the Region. It is demanded by the citizens of Cambridge that the right to determine where these sites are located be the decision of Cambridge and not the Region. Our City Council has already recognized the importance of Site locations and the influence upon their surroundings by creating a by-law forbidding their location within the Core areas. The Waterloo Region only shows disregard for the will of the Citizens of Cambridge and its elected officials by not respecting the demands of its people. The City of Cambridge shall have the right to determine its own destiny in this decision making process. Failure to comply with the wishes of its Citizens would constitute a failure of the Region to be a deciding entity for its Citizens.
