Imi Myers started this petition to Cambridge Assessment International Education

This year, thousands of students, globally, are being subjected to the injustice of having to sit CAIE’s IGCSEs despite the educational disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Exams can never be fair when students, internationally, have been affected differently by the pandemic with different levels of lockdown and remote education. These exams will stay on students’ records and will be compared against the exam results of other GCSE boards which are Teacher Assessed, meaning that CAIE students may be disadvantaged in life compared with their competitors for university places who have been awarded Teacher Assessment grades. The pandemic has placed enough stress on students and has had a hugely detrimental effect of the mental health of students and teachers alike. People are dying. Why are we still being expected to sit in an exam hall and pretend that everything’s ok? Level the playing field  - make all CAIE qualifications Teacher Assessed this year for the good of students’ mental health and to stay in line with other GCSE providers.
