Shutdown PartyTown Guelph to prevent the spread of COVID-19

In order to reduce the spread of COVID-19, we demand the temporary closing of PartyTown Guelph and all local bars and entertainment venues.

Based on the advice of Public Health professionals, Prime Minister Trudeau is highly encouraging all Canadians to perform social distancing. This means that all Canadians should refrain from performing non-essential tasks in public to prevent the transmission of COVID-19. Public venues such as those previously stated encourage large groups of people to gather within confined spaces creating an environment conducive to human contact and the spread of germs and diseases such as COVID-19.

By signing this petition you agree that the venue types listed above should align themselves with the advice of health care professionals and should do their part in protecting not only the employees and customers of these locations but also the remainder of the community and ultimately all Canadians. We request that the aforementioned venues close their doors for the minimum time period of 14 days (the approximate amount of time it takes for symptoms to appear in an infected individual) in order to help flatten the curve of COVID-19.

Furthermore, please keep yourselves informed by checking your local news channels, and note that CP24 will continue with daily debriefs.
