The Tramps - Ġieħ ir-Repubblika u 'Inti Djamant' - l-kanzunetta (mhux l-Innu) ta' Għawdex

0 have signed. Let’s get to 500!

Calypso Radio qiegħed jistiednek biex tiffirma din il-petizzjoni li għandha dan l-iskop:

  1. Biex il-grupp Għawdxi ‘The Tramps’ jiġi onorat b’Ġieħ ir-Repubblika.
  2. Biex ‘Inti Djamant’ tiġi rikonoxxuta uffiċċjalment bħala l-kanzunetta (mhux l-Innu) ta’ Għawdex.

Il-Petizzjoni se tiġi ppreżentata lill-Eċċellenza Tiegħu l-President ta’ Malta Dr. George Vella u lil Ministru ta’ Għawdex l-Onor Clint Camilleri.

Calypso Radio jħoss li huwa biss dmir tagħna li nuru l-apprezzament lejn dan il-grupp li bil-mużika tiegħu ta kontribut storiku lil pajjiżna. Minkejja li għaddew snin twal minn meta ħarġu diski bħal ‘Xemx’, ‘Sinjur Ġib il-Paċi’, u ‘Inti Djamant’ (fost oħrajn), kulħadd jista’ japprezza l-kwalità għolja ta’ mużika li ‘The Tramps’ tawna, tant li għadhom jintalbu mis-semmiegħa sal-ġurnata tal-lum.

Wieħed jista’ wkoll jgħid li ‘Xemx’ hija probabbilment l-iktar diska li ndaqqet minn artisti lokali tul is-snin, u tibqa’ waħda mill-akbar suċċessi fil-mużika Maltija.

The Tramps’ huwa grupp Għawdxi li kien idoqq mużika pop Maltija fis-snin sebgħin bil-mużika u kliem miktuba mill-kantawtur Dominic Grech u l-mużiċisti Joe Cassar fuq Keyboard, Spiru Sillato fuq il-Bass u Carmel Portelli fuq Drums. Dominic Grech ħalla din id-dinja fit-23 ta’ Awwissu 2005.

Nemmnu li dan il-grupp għandu jiġu mogħti l-unur ta’ Ġieħ ir-Repubblika.

Apparti dan, jekk hemm kanzunetta li tiżboq is-sbuħija tal-gżira Għawdxija, bla dubju din hi ‘Inti Djamant’. Qed nipproponu li ‘Inti Djamant’ tiġi rikonoxxuta formalment bħala l-l-kanzunetta ta’ Għawdex.

Inħeġġuk tiffirma din il-petizzjoni, u xxerred il-kelma sabiex nagħqdu ammont sostanzjali ta’ firem.

Calypso Radio se jkun qed jinforma lis-semmiegħa bil-progress tal-petizzjoni.

Calypso Radio would like to invite you to sign this petition which has the following aims:

1.    To honour Gozitan band The Tramps with Ġieħ ir-Repubblika.

2.    To have their song ‘Inti Djamant’ formally recognized as the official song for Gozo.

The petition will be presented to His Excellency the President of the Republic of Malta George Vella and to Minister for Gozo, the Honourable Clint Camilleri.

Calypso Radio feel that we should show our appreciation towards The Tramps for their contribution towards the Maltese music and cultural scene. Their various hits such as ‘Xemx’, ‘Sinjur Ġib il-Paċi’ and ‘Inti Djamant’ are today considered as classics, while still being requested on a daily basis by our listeners.

Xemx’ is also probably the most locally covered song, with practically all top artists and bands recording the classic or featuring it in live concerts. This song remains one of the biggest hits in Maltese music history.

'The Tramps' is a Gozitan seventies band featuring singer and main songwriter Dominic Grech, Joe Cassar on keyboard, Spiru Sillato on Bass and Carmel Portelli on Drums. Sadly, Mr. Grech passed away on 23rd August 2005.

The Tramps remain Gozo’s most acclaimed pop band.

We believe that this group deserves to be awarded the honour of ‘Ġieħ ir-Repubblika’.

Furthermore, their success 'Inti Djamant' depicts perfectly the beauty of the Gozitan Island, and we therefore believe that this should be formally the official song for Gozo.

Whilst inviting you to sign this petition, we also kindly ask you to share with friends so as to obtain as many signatures as possible.

Calypso Radio will be updating listeners about the progress of the campaign.
