Petition submitted at July 24th Public Hearing in Long Beach

Jul 25, 2013 — 8 pages of your comments and 8 pages of 381 signatures were submitted to OCTA tonight. Great numbers for only 25 hours. At least 10 residents spoke against the toll road option. The general feeling from the presenters is that the toll road options were in the original considerations and must be addressed in the supplement but that is the least acceptable option. As long as we keep up the pressure I doubt they will be able to select that option in October. There is no mechanism to remove an option from the paperwork and calculations. Option 1 was, and still is, the Preferred Alternative (PA). One person commented that if a toll road was added it should be free for carpoolers of 2 or more, not 3 or more.
