  1. Daripada 13 negeri Malaysia, Sabah mempunyai:
    1. populasi kanak-kanak kedua tertinggi,
    2. kadar kemiskinan tertinggi,
    3. jurang pendapatan paling besar, dan
    4. pencapaian SPM paling corot.

  2. Mewujudkan satu tradisi membantu pelajar & ibubapa membuat laporan polis atau laporan SPRM sekiranya kes melibatkan jenayah atau rasuah di sekolah, seperti pengetua korup melindungi guru ponteng.

Sabahans are brave for clean education: where are the State Assembly candidates?

No more fear. No more silence. We are Tiada.Guru (about us), a grassroots justice campaign of teachers, parents, and youth for the High Court case against allegations of a 7-month absent teacher. This High Court case was filed by a brave daughter of Sabah, Siti Nafirah binti Siman of Kota Belud, at the end of 2018 and her public trial will begin on 2 November 2020.

\\ THE ISSUES RAISED \\

  1. Of Malaysia's thirteen states, Sabah has:
    1. the 2nd highest child population,
    2. the highest poverty rate,
    3. the worst inequality, and
    4. the worst SPM results.
  2. Statistics for the data above. All of these are closely related to massive corruption & injustice in the education system
  3. Why Sabah? All schools in Malaysia use one system, but somehow Sabah has the lowest exam results. Why? For 30 years, Sabahans have suffered the most from extreme teacher absenteeism. Siti Nafirah's allegations and Court case have now survived five Ministers of Education and all three ruling coalitions (BN, PH, PN). Until today, there has been no accountability by anyone for the children of Sabah.
  4. The Ministry of Education (MOE) admits failures, but refuses justice: In a 2009 survey, 19.5% of Malaysian principals admitted teacher absenteeism hindered learning. In the 2013 MOE report "Protecting Instructional Time", teachers refusing to teach was mentioned 24 times in 263 pages. In a 2017 report, the MOE disciplinary unit admitted teachers refusing to teach was the majority offense (55.4%).
  5. The Root Problem: In the end, it is a broken accountability system that protects extremely absent teachers and disrespects honest teachers. Who is forced to make-up classes for extremely absent teachers? Honest teachers. Who investigates extremely absent teachers? The school administrators. If corrupted school administration closes the case without justice? They destroy our children's education, the parents' dreams, the village's potential, and the hope of the nation (graphic).

\\ THE DEMANDS \\

This is the time for the powerful to take their knees off the necks of our children. Hope is not found, but made. Evil is not brave, but shielded.

We demand all ADUNs and MPs to:

  1. First, receive evidence from students & parents on extremely absent teachers; second, ensure the MOE follows its five-day investigation process & demand harsh disciplinary action; and, third, compile a report card on extreme teacher absenteeism in his or her district to present to DUN Sabah.
  2. Make it a tradition to assist students & parents in filing police reports or MACC reports if the problem includes crimes or corruption in schools, such as principals protecting corrupt teachers.
  3. Immediately end the culture of silence in education: speak up for honest teachers, Sabahan children, and their parents.
