3 strike rule for people with history of suicidal attempts

My husband suffered with depression for over 10 years. Over this time he had over 10 'cries for help,'. Because every time he had been intoxicated they sent him on his way because he made out 'he was fine'. In may 2015 my husband hung himself, leaving me and his 3 year old son at the time. I strongly believe that people who have a history of mental illness and suicide attempts should be committed on the third attempt. They clearly are not in a stable frame of mind when they say they are 'OK'. Medical professionals need to have the power to look at the individuals history and make a professional judgement based on their history. The 3rd time you have been admitted to hospital because of suicide attempts should be automatically put down to your doctor to admit you for help. If this had been in place my son may still have his dad.
