In November 2010, Venky's purchased Blackburn Rovers for approximately £23m. Upon taking over Rovers, they gave assurances to the stakeholders in the club that they would: Commit funds on a consistent and systematic basis to future transfer and/or loan activity. Continue to support the existing management team and staff, and the future development of, and investment in, the Club’s academy and youth infrastructure. Seek to extend the Blackburn Rovers name and brand into India, the rest of south-east Asia and beyond. Seek to develop and improve commercial performance across sponsorship, the club's kit deal and general merchandising activity. Seek to enhance the fan experience at Ewood Park itself on match days (and non match days) and to maximise season ticket sales and any remaining match day ticket sales. Improve the Club’s media platforms (for example the Club's TV channel) and to become more active in the social media space). Instead of staying true to these assurances, during the past 13 months Venky's have: Sacked a well respected manager, who was doing a decent job before his dismissal, replacing him with a coach who had never managed a club before his appointment as Blackburn Rovers manager, let alone a Premier League team. Driven all of the club executives from the Walker Trust era out of the club, most notably John Williams who had invaluable experience and a huge reputation for great administration. Turned the fans against each other through Steve Kean's dialogue with the press. As a result fans argued amongst each other due to their frustration at the clubs current state. The club structure has given us (the fans) a bad name by putting us in the situation we are in. They've given the fans no choice but to voice our disapproval and do all we can to save our beloved team. Plunged the club into more debt than our revenue streams and financial arrangement could cope with on a year on year basis. These are the main failings that are threatening to destroy a once proud and thriving club and the aim of this petition is to convince Venky's to sell Blackburn Rovers before things get even worse. We are not an unreasonable set of fans we just want to see our club properly handled and run within it's means so we can enjoy Blackburn Rovers in the long term future.
