Calling for a wellbeing index to enable resilient & thriving Australian rural communities

Calling for a wellbeing index to enable resilient & thriving Australian rural communities
- GDP is a limited and outdated measure of a region or countries success.
- Countries around the world are now looking and embracing a more relevant measure of quality of life, through a social and economic lens, also called a wellbeing index. Including NZ, Bhutan, Scotland, Iceland …the list goes on.
- A wellbeing index for rural Australia would allow each community to have meaningful input into policy and funding decisions that impact and benefit what their community values. It’s a framework that understands and guides everyday factors that impact our basic human needs, quality of life and opportunity. It would help inform decision makers elevating the quality of information available.
It’s time for a bipartisan and community led approach to drive improved social and economic factors for resilient, thriving and prosperous regional communities in Australia.
Please join our voice and sign our important and urgent national petition calling for a wellbeing index in Australia to drive opportunity, growth and prosperity for everyone in our rural, regional and remote communities.
