I would like to call on CUPE, in addition to KDSB and the municipality of Sioux Lookout to actively pursue a timely resolution to the daycare transfer negotiations. I ask that you take into consideration the wide spread and rippling affects that a daycare service disruption, of any length of time, may and will have on the community as a whole including but not limited to the following:

1) Parents having to quit jobs
2) The inability for some families to survive in Sioux Lookout on one income, meaning in some cases it may mean two parents leaving jobs in Sioux Lookout
3) Employee loss for employers
4) Future employee recruitment will be an issue for employers until more daycare positions become available again
5) Other public services that will be effected by employee loss and thereby effecting the recipients of those services

There is conflicting information being provided to parents and community members in regards to the quality and content of the transfer agreement proposed by and to the parties involved, and full transparency is not currently an option. As such, this petition is to be directed to all parties involved, and can be used by whatever party or parties have been providing correct information to help levee a timely resolution from the party or parties who have been providing misinformation.
