Call on Prosecutor to request and Judge to impose maximum sentence in deaths of nearly 1,000 pigs
Daniel Lee Clark, Jr. has been charged with 832 summary counts of animal cruelty in the deaths of nearly 1,000 pigs, the remains of which were found shut in barns on his property. The pigs are believed to have died of starvation, thirst and exposure to freezing temperatures. They may have drowned or frozen in water and manure that backed up into the barns.
It is thanks to your letters and calls that the prosecutor is pursuing these charges. The penalty for each count of animal cruelty is between $50 and $750 and 90 days in jail. Clark's arraignment is scheduled for December 22 before Magisterial District Court Judge Carol J. Jackson. For more information.....http://www.animallawcoalition.com/farm-animals/article/1474
Call on District Attorney Travis L. Kendall to request and Judge Jackson to impose the maximum sentence allowed by law. Don't forget to thank them for pursuing this case!
There is a link between cruelty to animals and domestic violence and other violence towards humans. When we treat animal cruelty as a crime, we ultimately help protect children and other human victims of violence.
