PETITION of the
CONCERNED CITIZENS & RESIDENTS OF ANTIGUA & BARBUDA

CONCERNED about the general welfare of all citizens and residents of Antigua and Barbuda;

CONSCIOUS that rumours, scandals, innuendos half-truths and naked lies can irreparably damage the good name of Antigua and Barbuda and, consequently, the livelihood of its people, our standing in the region, and our reputation in the international community;

AWARE that – without full disclosure of all the facts related to Antigua Airways and the organizers of the chartered trips from Nigeria; the transportation of some 900 West Africans to Antigua and Barbuda, with no onward destination indicated and no valid return tickets; the issuance of visas on arrival in violation of the law; and the identification of all persons, entities and governments involved in this fiasco – Antigua and Barbuda’s name within the foreseeable future will be tarnished, with a resulting adverse effect on its tourism; its investment desirability as a nation of laws; and, ultimately, on the citizens and residents of this beloved country…

WE, THE UNDERSIGNED, KNOWINGLY AND VOUNTARILY, CALL ON HIS EXCELLENCY SIR RODNEY WILLIAMS, GOVERNOR-GENERAL OF ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA, TO ENPANEL, AT HIS EARLIEST CONVENIENCE, A PUBLIC COMMISSION OF INQUIRY TO INVESTIGATE AND REPORT ON THE ABOVE ISSUES AND RELATED MATTERS
