Call for a full independent investigation into Walsall Council's Childrens Services

For years the children in Walsall, West Midlands have been let down by Walsall Council and their inability to protect vulnerable children from harm.
The council's attitude in dealing with this is to ignore people making complaints regarding the lack of support or services and ignore serious safeguarding concerns when people approach the council.
The council are seriously failing to protect children from sexual exploration and a recent OFSTED report ( https://reports.ofsted.gov.uk/local-authorities/walsall ) showed failings that the council fail to correct. Change needs to be made at Walsall Council and they seem to think drafting in a new Director of Children's Services will do that. But that won't stop the rot that has already set in the Children's Services.
Parents of children in the area are even having to resort to making court applications in order to get the council to comply with court orders already made naming the council to provide a various service.
At the same time the council are claiming that they are having their funding cut, whilst spending thousands on court fees defending themselves in court for failing to comply with court orders.
The Legal Services section at the council need to have a long look at themselves if they believe that by trying to shut families up raising complaints will work. The vulnerable children in the Walsall area deserve support as do their families. They don't deserve a council who's only concern is how much money they can waste buying a shopping centre and closing children's centres down.
