Californians can now sue irresponsible gun manufacturers or distributors.

Yesterday, I got this message from Gavin Newsom. In memory of all the lives lost, let him know we stand with him on this issue by signing this petition. Here was his message below...

Hi Californians, 

It’s well known that nearly every industry is held to account when their products cause harm or injury.

Except one.

The gun industry.

They’ve spent millions of dollars over the years buying up politicians to shield themselves from the pain they cause in our communities.

Yesterday, California changed that.

I signed a bill allowing Californians to sue irresponsible gun manufacturers or distributors.

If you’ve been hurt or a family member is a victim of gun violence, you can now go to court and hold the makers of these deadly weapons accountable.

Our kids, families and communities deserve streets free of gun violence and gun makers are going to be held accountable for their role in this crisis.

We’re taking action in California, and we’re saving lives.

According to the Giffords Law Center, in 2021 California was ranked as the TOP STATE in the nation for gun safety. Our commonsense laws have allowed us to cut our gun death rate in half.

All while other states like Florida and Texas saw double-digit increases.

To the victims of gun violence and their families: California stands with you.
