Due to the COVID-19 outbreak it has been a very difficult time finding a medical social worker currently working in the vicinity of "Acute Care Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Caregiver agencies, Hospice agencies, Home Health agencies, Outpatient Health clinics, Acute (physical) Rehab, Resource Centers, Behavioral Health, centers, etc.,"  who is willing to meet in person, give an agency tour, or phone interview due to the high caseloads they are currently undergoing due to this difficult time. The California State University Northridge MSW Ventura Cohort class of 2020 is requesting a cancellation of this assignment and the Part B of our prevailing issues in healthcare assignment As a result of experiencing a public health emergency many of us are focusing on obtaining our basic needs and having to support our families as many have been left unemployed; making school assignments last priority. In lieu , we will be able to focus our entire efforts on the livelihood of our families and communities.  60% of our grade from those assignments can be weighted into class participation and attendance.  Student competencies one through nine, as outlined on the syllabus and the 2015 Council on Social Work Education Policy and Accreditation Standards will still be met in our course; SWRK 650O: Practice: Social Work in Health Care Settings without these assignment or implementation of a new assignment with our class readings and lectures alone .  Please consider our reasonable ask.
