Tuition Refund for Campus Services Not Provided Due to COVID-19

Due to the circumstances surrounding COVID-19, CSUN has sensibly transitioned to an online learning platform. While this is both a wise and necessary transition to ensure the safety of CSUN's students and faculty, students will not have access to many of the amenities/resources that they pay for in the tuition fees. 

Both undergraduate and graduate students were/are required to pay the following fees in the Spring 2020, Summer 2020, and Fall 2020 semesters: 

Associated Students Fee: Spring 2020 - $107, Summer 2020 - $64, Fall 2020 - $111

Student Union Fee: Spring 2020 - $294, Summer 2020 - $176 , Fall 2020 - $306

Instructionally Related Activities Fee: Spring 2020 - $18, Summer 2020 - $18 , Fall 2020 - $19

Health Facilities Fee: Spring 2020 - $3, Summer 2020- $3 , Fall 2020 - $3

Health Services Fee: Spring 2020 - $75, Summer 2020 - $45, Fall 2020 - $76

Campus Quality Fee: Spring 2020 - $118, Summer 2020 - $71 , Fall 2020 - $120

In addition to these mandatory fees totaling between $377 - $635 a semester, students are not receiving the full educational experience that they signed up for when they committed to the university. Due to these circumstances and the financial strain many students are enduring as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are requesting a reimbursement with respect to the aforementioned amounts (to the extent paid by the applicable student) for Spring 2020, Summer 2020, and Fall 2020 semesters.
