Fire Chancellor Reed!

Since Charles Reed took the position of Chancellor of the California State University student fees have gone up 263%, faculty salaries have increased only 27% which does not even offset inflation, which has gone up 43%. Chancellor Reed has also refused to approve faculty raises for the past two years.
In contrast, CSU's top executives' salaries have increased 71% with the last two CSU presidents that were hired making between $378,000 and $400,000. Chancellor Reed's salary has increased from $254,004 to $451,000 and so is now greater than the President of the United States! With the release of Governor Brown's new state budget CSU's executives are looking to make enormous cuts that will affect students, faculty and staff. If these cuts go into effect they will be devastating to public higher education. For example, the cuts for CSULB alone will be equivalent to eliminating the entire college of liberal arts! Meanwhile the CSU executives, including Chancellor Reed, will continue to make their six figure incomes because lowering their salaries is not even on the table! This must change!
