Tell California Legislators that Maternal Mental Health Matters
0 have signed. Let’s get to 500!
Postpartum depression currently impacts 1 in 7 women in California. Postpartum depression affects mothers, their babies, and families. This illness continues to affect families throughout many generations.
There is still much to be done in order to have proper legislation to support these mothers and families. Please join us in advocating for the passage of California's Comprehensive Maternal Mental Health Bill Package. This package includes AB 1893 which requires the CA Department of Public Health to investigate and apply for federal funding opportunities regarding maternal mental health. AB 2193 would implement Case Management and Ob/GYN Screenings for maternal mental health disorders. ACR 180 dedicates the month of May 2018 as Maternal Mental Health Awareness Month. AB 3032 requires hospitals to develop programs for addressing maternal mental health.
Postpartum depression is a serious condition, and with this comprehensive bill package we can make important strides in supporting individuals and families going through these difficult times.
