Dear Friends,

My name is Fuji, and I am your write-in candidate for California governor on June 5th, 2018. I am also 100% self-funded, Independent and just like you, an ordinary Californian native that loves our diversity of peoples, faiths, ideas, hopes, desires, and expectations.

My fellow gubernatorial candidates include State Assemblyman Travis Allen, State Treasurer John Chiang, attorney John Cox, former state Superintendent of Schools Delaine Eastin, Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom, and former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, acclaimed Libertarian activist Nickolas Wildstar, Amanda Renteria and others. They are all talented, committed and inspirational individuals in their own right. California is a better place with such talent.

While you and I may have different political views, opinions, and preferences, ensuring pedestrian safety for our children and communities should be mutually agreed upon. This is why I asking for your help, in signing my online petition to modernize our CVC 21212 law, to ensure safety for our children and communities in a just, fair and practical way. As the only gubernatorial candidate actively promoting modernizing our local, county and state government and laws by personally coding and developing core technologies, I am committed to public safety at all levels of society, especially for our youth, that relates to electrically powered skateboards.

Yet, I am the only gubernatorial candidate with real-world technical experience, know-how, and understanding of technology, and the interdependent technologies of coding and networking that make our Internet society function, work and succeed. The lack of technical experience, know-how, and understanding by my fellow gubernatorial candidates does not impute any particular wrongdoing, a character flaw or trait. Unfortunately, the lack of technical experience, know-how, and understanding by my fellow gubernatorial candidates does demonstrate urgently needed safety legislation that is not being addressed, debated or even acknowledged.

I am making this online petition to bring awareness of a much-needed discussion on helmet safety regulation for electric skateboards. I agree with the intent of our state law of CVC 21212. However, I disagree with our CVC 21212 not specifically not clearly stating in plain English a helmet requirement for electric skateboards. Presently, CVC 21212 only uses the word "skateboard" and does not include "electric skateboard". In addition, CVC 21212 only states that persons under the age of 18 are required to wear "a properly fitted and fastened bicycle helmet that meets the standards of either the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) or the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC)".

Interestingly, our California state website states the above-mentioned law was the last updated in 2003. (Amended by Stats. 2002, Ch. 475, Sec. 1. Effective January 1, 2003.)

I respectfully propose the following updates to CVC 21212 to be included with due diligence by our California State Legislature and Governor:

1. Any persons, regardless of age, using, operating or driving an electric skateboard to wear a properly fitted and fastened bicycle helmet that meets the standards of either the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) or the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) or Federal Government's Department of Transportation (DOT) Standards.

If we could save one child or person from incurring a head injury and injuring others, then the much-needed updating and modernization of CVC 21212 law will be worth it. With your help by signing my online California Electric Skateboard Helmet Law petition, together we can make a difference.

Thank you, everyone, your time and consideration. Please sign and share with your family and friends the California Electric Skateboard Helmet Law
