Jack Wiehn started this petition to California State Senate and

In late March, many teens in the United States lost the privilege to get their driver's license due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. There are over 100,000 teens who have had their road test canceled in California. Most states in the U.S. who canceled the road test at the start of the pandemic have made the necessary changes and precautions in order to fulfill the want and sometimes needs, for the teens in the country to get their driver's license. From what I have seen the state of California has not addressed this lingering issue. There are many ways that the DMVs across California can administer a road test safely and if you don't feel safe you can't wait till there are more precautions for the test. We can do the following to ensure our safety

  1. Wear a mask for the entire test.
  2. Wash your hands and passenger side of the car upon arrival.
  3. Enforce social distancing where you can (You can't in a car).

This petition is to have the lawmakers of California see that they can't just take away the freedoms of the teens in the United States and for them to find a way to start the road test in California. Thank you very much for your time and consider signing this petition for the teenagers of California.
