It is clear for all that we are facing the beginning of an un-precedent health crisis / Pandemic.  As we have seeing in countries like Italy and Spain, the Corona virus (COVID-19) is still spreading and the hospitals are at full capacity and treating patients in hallways and improvised settings.

The partial lock down, social distancing and general awareness will hopefully help us keep things under control, but the likelihood of COVID-19 to spread anyway seems highly likely. And if we learned from what is happening in other parts of the world we would get prepared because the numbers of infected people can spike from one day to the other.

Recently, St Vincent's Medical Center located at 2131 W. 3rd St  Los Angeles closed its doors.  It has capacity for 366 beds maybe more if adapted/redesigned for an specific purpose.  I think it is the civil duty of our state/city government to facilitate adequate care for all its citizens. Since the hospital is not longer in operation, it can be fully adapted to treat the needs of patients currently infected with the COVID-19 and house scientist doing their research on-site.  It can be the treatment and research facility for the COVID-19 to further isolate the exposure to others.

Studies will have to be conducted expeditiously to ensure the welfare of the community at large is not at stake and/or a safety ring surrounded the hospital established.  Perhaps a giant sterile bubble around the hospital building.

An outreach campaign for volunteer retired medical and ancillary staff can be launched and/or a go fund me campaign started to pay the salaries of those willing to help .
