Hello, my name is Jason. I am currently going through a deportation preceding fighting to stay in this country. ICE is trying to deport me back to Korea a place I know nothing of. I came to this country when I was only 5 years old. I am 40 years old now so I basically lived almost all my life in the U.S.

Growing up I was brought up in a broken home. My dad was a really abusive and a violent person who use to physically abuse me & my mom. I use to hate being at my house it was the last place in earth I wanted to be in. Because of this reason I was always out in the streets as a little kid & ended up hanging around the wrong crowd of other kids who came from a broken home just like me. I started making horrible choices in my life & started committing crimes just to fit in with my peers. This lasted all throughout my teenage years all the way to my 20’s. I finally came to my senses and changed my life around. I became a union Ironworker and was doing great finally having my own place with my own car. In 2013 I had a fine I needed to pay through court but they gave me a choice to either pay that fine or do a week in jail. At the time I knew Los Angeles county jail made people only serve about 10% of their time so I decided to do the time in jail instead of paying the thousands of dollars in fine. That was about the worst mistake I made my whole life because the day I was getting released ICE came & picked me up instead for a crime that happened in 2004. The crime I already did my time for, but since I’m only a legal permanent resident & not an American citizen they took me to an ICE facility. 10 months later I was granted bail. I been fighting my immigration case since then. 
I don’t know nothing about Korea which they’re trying to deport me to nor do I even know how to speak the language. I have no families nor any ties to that country. U.S is my home & a place I only know. I will not be able to survive there if they were to deport me. Please help me stay in this country my home and the only place I know.
