The prison laborers that helped build this highway in 1936 put more care, pride and thought into it than Caltrans did in 2013. It's now noisy and unsafe for all wheeled vehicles.

I am an avid cyclist and riding on this kind of surface is horrible, causing flats, and often you are forced to ride into the lane with increase risk of being hit by cars.
