Together we the citizens of the State of California, respectfully request that the California Department  of Public Health and Governor Gavin Newsom immediately rescind the mandate requiring students to wear a mask.  We request that the wearing of masks being made optional by the school district. That the right to choose be given to the parents and students of each school Distric in California . Forcing an individual to wear a mask is an infringement on our personal liberties. Healthy adults and children should not be forced by the state or school district to wear masks when the risk of infection is low and the benefit of wearing a mask is highly questionable and has yet to be proven effective. 

If/When exposure occurs, parents should be notified and the option to keep their child/children home should be presented but not required.

Wearing a mask for long periods of time can cause headache, migraines, and lack of focus due to low oxygen levels. 

Wearing a mask for long periods of time ensures that the wearer has a warm and moist receptacle around their mouth, on which viruses and bacteria can land and accumulate.

The N95 masks are the only mass that are actually effective at containing the virus and the school district is not requiring N95 masks be worn.  Evidence has shown that homemade cloth masks aren’t effective and actually cause you to touch your face more than you would without the mask. 

Our students should begin the process of returning to normality.

Therefor, together we the citizens of California petition the California Department of Public health and governor Gavin Newsom to take a firm stance against mandatory facemask striking down all policies mandating students to wear face masks.
