LGBTQ+ representation demands our undivided attention. As our society continues to prove itself more progressive, we must ensure that educators are thoroughly informed about the LGBTQ+ community, in order to uphold and maintain necessary societal adjustments.

Although we've come a long way to make sure we have an inclusive school environment, many students still express their concerns about issues they deal with regularly. This varies from discriminatory language not being dealt with by educators, to incorrect names being called by substitute teachers because preferred names do not show up on the school database or roster sheets. If teachers and staff have a complex understanding of the students they work with, they will be able to better support and guide them throughout their high school journeys.

This is why LGBTQ+ training for teachers and staff at LHS should be mandatory. This training is to be taught by experts with legitimate educational qualifications and an extensive understanding of the subject. This training should not be a one-time occurrence, but instead be required periodically.

Sign this petition if you'd like to see inclusive LGBTQ+ educational training being done within the Lincoln High School community!
