Create a safe haven for all undocumented California Community College students.
This petition had 221 supporters
Over 2.3 million students have chosen the California Community College system as their platform for a higher education. Many of the students in the California Community College System have come from different countries which adds to the diverse melting pot of the statewide student population. The current presidential administration has raised a lot of concern and fear for many undocumented students with the lingering uncertainty of deportation. It is time for the California Community College System to protect its students. No law abiding student should have to live in fear because they are undocumented. California is known for its diversity and open mindedness which has attracted so many people from around the world. This petition is to pressure the board members to adopt a resolution to protect students from federal law enforcement agencies by not allowing federal agents come on to any of the 114 campuses and revealing the names of undocumented students that do not have a warrant out for their arrest. Adopting a resolution to protect undocumented students will bring comfort to many students who chosen to better themselves by reaching for a higher education.
