Via Reuters: California is being sued by the largest meat packers and processors, The North American Meat Institute, in an effort to block enforcement of Prop 12 which was approved by 63% of voters last year.  Prop 12 requires farmers to provide more space for animals being raised for food.

The North American Meat Institute is 700 members strong and include companies such as Tyson, Walmart, Chipotle and Amazon.com's Whole Foods.  Prop 12 sets minimum space requirements for calves raised for veal calves, breeding pigs and egg-laying hens and bans the sale of raw veal, pork or eggs from animals housed in too little space.

The case is North American Meat Institute v. Becerra et al, U.S. District Court, Central District of California, No. 19-08569

Please sign this petition to send a clear message that California will not tolerate the will of the voters being overturned by a special interest group.
