I am sure that if you have been paying attention you have heard about “The Ban on Conversion Therapy”! The government wants to legislate with whom people are allowed to talk! They want to create by-laws to prevent counseling for consenting adults, which leads to the absurd situation that two consenting adults can engage in any sexual activity they choose, but those same adults could not talk about those sexual practices within a counseling relationship.

I believe that in a free and democratic country people have a fundamental right to seek any help they need and with whom they want to! That includes heterosexuals and homosexuals! We do not need or want the government to legislate simple human interactions or our thoughts! We do not want the arms of the government to tell us how we can feel, with whom we can talk or what we can talk about! In a free society, there is no place for such censorship! It is not the government's business whom we choose as our own counselors and what we talk with those counselors about! It is and should be our own private matter and should always stay that way! We cannot allow them, the government bureaucrats, to deprive us of our right to be able to choose our own path and the people that we seek help from!

To criminalize counseling, talking, praying, helping, turns our blood-bought democracy into a plain and evil dictatorship! The government that was elected to protect us, Canadian citizens and our Charter of Rights and Fundamental Freedoms cannot without breaking their own mandate to protect freedom of expression and freedom of religion to prosecute conversations with two consenting adults! Such a proposal would destroy democracy at its foundation! Under this proposed law, people can be charged with an offense simply because they provide services that other people desperately need! That is fundamentally wrong!

PS. If the city dares to pass this unconstitutional By-Law we need to start preparing our legal options. We will be raising funds to retain a good lawyer‎ to fight for our Rights and Freedoms!
