Calderdale Council's Safer, Cleaner, Greener (SCG) service is one of the core frontline services the Council delivers. Keeping our streets, parks, and green spaces clean and tidy is one of the services that it most valued by the public.

The service was cut by £400K in 2017 by the Labour administration - a decision that was not supported by the public who consistently state that they highly value the work of SCG and regard it as an important service in maintaining and improving the state of the local area.  

Reinstating the money previously removed from this service will allow the Safer, Cleaner, Greener team to continue the fantastic work that they do and will help to provide funding and additional resources for projects which are supported by the community and which will enhance the visual amenity of the borough.
