California has the largest population. We are the most diverse state with about 220 languages spoken. If California became its own country, it would be ranked to have the 5th largest economy in the world and a good part of this is thanks to our Diversity and Multilingualism.

Research proves multilingualism allows for intellectual flexibility, increases students cognitive functions, delays cognitive illnesses (such as  Alzheimer's disease), gives greater job opportunities, and raises status and earning potential.

By further encouraging multilingualism through education, it will increase academic achievements and graduation rates, benefit our economy and promote sociocultural activity.
