Erasing gender bias and Punishing the guilty

Today, there is lot being done to uphold the rights of women and create a safer India. Many sexual harassment laws are being enforced strictly in order to reduce the number of cases occurring in our country.

Though,it is undoubtedly true that rape and sexual harassment cases exist and are reported everyday ,it is undeniable that the converse,i.e. fake harassment cases are also filed which cause serious damage to the life and career of the victim. In the past,we have seen many such instances where the opposite gender was wrongly framed for inappropriate advance, the case in point being Jasleen Kaur and the Rohtak sisters.

I would like to highlight another case which came into the limelight where Arpan Verma,a law student and a Cafe Coffee Day customer was having coffee in the Jaipur branch of CCD and found cockroaches in the display counter. After  confronting the staff about it ,he got rude responses and the lady in question, Priyanka Priyadarshini, a CCD employee started filming him.Seeing this,Arpan had started filming the same on his phone when the lady came forward and slapped him.

Post this incident,an FIR was filed by Arpan regarding the same. However, soon after, the employee filed a sexual harassment case against him and is refusing to take it back unless Arpan withdraws his case.

Most feminazis today believe that a woman must have the last say and the fact that she has reported the crime undoubtedly prove that she was innocent. But,as a feminist I ask for an equal treatment of the genders, which implies that this case, courtesy the media attention it has received, must be taken up as a priority  and the guilty be punished after considering all the evidences.

I request the Supreme court to kindly consider this petition and prove that the law is above all.And that we as feminists are looking for equal rights and an equal say,but not superiority.
