Darren White, a resident in Bargoed has started a campaign to stop illegal parking in the town centre.
Darren White, 31, said the problem is becoming a “hopeless situation” after spotting motorists pulling on the curb, blocking pedestrians from getting past.
Now he’s trying to raise awareness to get locals together to stop the problem that he says is blighting the town.
He said: “Disabled people, prams, and pedestrians have had to go round onto the road, bearing in mind how narrow the roads are which is used by buses, lorries and cars.
“People seem to park wherever they want and don’t seem to think about the danger it causes.
“It’s becoming a hopeless situation and I worry that someone will get hurt – it just takes one accident.”
And he said that council designated areas for delivery vans and lorries to unload are not clearly enough marked.
He said: “Delivery lorries and vans as well as normal cars just seem to park where ever they want which causes nuisance for pedestrians.
There are loading bays by some shops but council have not made it clear enough - people park there to shop.”
