Bring Back Second Amendment Gun Rights to Caddo Parish

It has come to my attention that the Caddo Parish Commission has passed an ordinance prohibiting the discharge of a firearm within one mile of a subdivision in an area around Shreveport, Louisiana.  In addition, they will meet Oct 5, 2015 at 505 Travis Street, Shreveport, LA to consider a new ordinance prohibiting the discharge of a firearm within a mile of any subdivision in Caddo Parish.  The effect, unintended or on purpose, could make it illegal for almost anyone in the parish from defending their home from the ever increasing home invasions; prohibit the discharge of a weapon to stop the attack of a coyote, fox, bobcat, lynx, rabid animal, etc., that threatens the life and safety of your pets or family members.  Most plots of land have been incorporated into subdivision plats, even in remote rural areas and most of the small towns in Caddo Parish such as Ida, Rodessa, Belcher, Gilliam, Mira, Vivian, Oil City, Mooringsport and in areas not thought to be in an organized community.  Many hunting clubs are threatened with closure in this largely heavily forested parish that have been in existence many years. In addition, many large acreage owners would not be able to hunt on their own land.  The ordinance only allows for such protection as a bow and arrow or a BB gun neither of which would have stopped the two hundred pound black panther that was killed less than a mile from my elderly parents' home in Oil City nor would either have been adequate protection for their skills when a bobcat invaded their yard last year in search of a pet to kill.  Please tell the Caddo Parish Commission to restore our gun rights and not further restrict our right to defend ourselves or hunt on our own land.
