Internet affordability shouldn't be at the expense of food and shelter among other basic necessities especially during this extraordinary time worldwide.
Why are majority of us limited to ONLY one internet/cable service provider in our neighbourhoods? For example, why is it Cablevision/Optimum or bust for the majority of us? Why is there a monopoly and not competition between and among providers for consumers to choose from? You would think this would result in good if not great service at an affordable price. As if the exorbitant prices for plans being offered aren't bad enough, the late fees charged compound the misery for a whole lot of families.
The time is NOW for this monopoly of internet/cable service providers to be broken. The market needs to open to competition especially now given that remote learning is now at the forefront, and might "BE" the way our kids learn academically from Universal Pre-K to the Collegiate level.
More internet/cable service provider options needed regardless of where you live whether you have Cablevision/Optimum, Verizon, Time Warner or what have you. Let's make our voices heard. Please forward/share with your local, state and federal representatives.
