Noise pollution from trains

We all are aware about the variety of pollutions we are facing as a common citizen. One of the most prevalent and the most neglected is noise pollution. Whether it is pressure horns, loud speakers, wedding processions, unauthorised celebratory fire crackers, the common man is always at the receiving end, as nobody thinks of noise pollution as an alarming problem. One of the perpetrators of this noise pollution are the trains passing through residential areas of any city. Though the noise from their movement can't be stopped, at least they should be barred from honking their sirens, which the drivers do as per their standard operating procedure (SOP).
My request to Railways is that they should change their SOP and the engine drivers should be asked not to use their sirens within city limits.
