Shweta Agarwal started this petition to C.B.S.E Board Authority

This year, 2019, on March 5th, C.B.S.E conducted physics paper of class 12. One of the sets was the toughest paper in last 25 years. It was lengthy for students and was totally numerical based forgoing the pattern students had prepared under the directions and guidance of Teachers.

Question paper pattern was different from last 25 year and set 1 was the toughest. The sets should be designed such that all students are measured and evaluated against same standards. Giving some students the hardest set heavily disadvantages them against those who were lucky to get the easier question paper. We ask you where’s the fairness in this? Standardised tests are supposed to eliminate the factor of luck and lead to objective assessment, but in this instance it seems students had to rely on their fortune in receiving a better question paper.

Schools also have not taught or prepared the students for the kind of question paper that set 1 students encountered and the board is effectively playing with our children's future. Students are still in trauma and losing hope for coming exams; dwelling on what’s the point of preparation if could eventually be assessed against a much harder set based on their luck.

My request is to do either lenient marking or conduct the paper again. Please sign this petition to help me garner the required support! Our kids are only starting their career journey- let’s ensure they start on a fair footing!

Sincerely,

Shweta Agrawal
