I am creating this petition to help awareness of the dangerous and dumb challenges that the app TikTok has kept online on their app that people post. I want to state first off that I understand that these challenges are created by individuals themselves, but TikTok is really the problem and I am here to explain why. The vast majority of kids/teens have phones nowadays or at least a tablet with internet access, which has led to them to being sucked into it and what the "trending" things are in the world. TikTok is obviously trending and guess who sees that? Correct, your sons and daughters, nieces and nephews, ect. Now your not "cool" in today's society if you're not "trending" with everyone else so you have to download TikTok and create videos to show that you're "cool". Well, a lot of these videos aren't cool lately with the challenges, they are actually very dangerous and dumb, plain and simple. The newest one involves a woman licking an airplane seat and calling it "Coronavirus Challenge", which is very very disturbing, distastefull, and selfish considering the pandemic right now. Another one was the "socket challenge" where kids would try and put a penny between a plug that's plugged into an outlet, which can cause serious damage! I am very concerned because I myself am a parent of about to be two daughters and I am very concerned of the society that they will be brought up in and am concerned of the well being of everyone's children and the parents as well. If we are to bring this attention to the creators of this app hopefully we can make a change. If these challenges at least get taken down right away and the accounts of these people get indefinite bans then we can at least send a message that this is not funny and/or cool to be doing. If TikTok keeps these videos up on their app then they are spreading stupidity, harm, and bad health for everyone. Please, I know everyone wants the best for their children, let's make a difference and get these damaging, unhealthy, and distasteful "challenges" off of this app and help stop the spread of this!
