Why this petition matters

Started by Mark Higgins

The lack of public transport options and inadequate footpaths pose a significant problem for the residents of Donnybrook. With the increasing population and ongoing developments, it is essential to address these issues promptly.

The current bus service provided is insufficient, running only four times a day and not serving all the estates in the area. This leaves many residents without convenient access to essential amenities and services. Expanding the bus service to include a route to the Epping road roundabout would greatly benefit the growing population.

Furthermore, the absence of sufficient street lighting and footpaths along Donnybrook road creates a hazardous situation for pedestrians and cyclists. As the area continues to develop, prioritizing the safety of vulnerable road users should be a top concern. Installing a concrete barrier along the road to the station, accompanied by temporary lighting, would enhance the safety of pedestrians and cyclists at little cost.

The importance of public transport in a functioning suburb cannot be underestimated. With the increase in usage of Donnybrook railway station, it is crucial to provide reliable and convenient public transportation options. This would not only alleviate traffic congestion but also encourage more sustainable modes of transportation.

Addressing the public transport and safety concerns in Donnybrook is paramount. Expanding the bus service to include more areas and installing proper street lighting and footpaths along Donnybrook road would greatly benefit the growing population of the community. A well-connected and safe suburb is vital for its residents' well-being and overall development.
