Petition Closed

Bullying, in the form of name calling, any level of extortion of money either in reality or in cyberspace must be recognized as a hate crime, and must become be illegal in a constitutional amendment, we cannot let this legally be allowed anymore, this legal status must end. The U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate has the power to end it. We have the power to tell them this is the wishes of their citizens in whom they represent and are supposed to protect. Bullying, especially, in schools increasingly become more of a critical issue with growing tragedies of suicide from kids, teenager, and most likely even bullying towards adults. The House and Senate must send a message in the form of a federal law that will send a message to whoever might be bullying that they have to realize their words that are very powerful and is isn't just fun and games to some people, despite what bullies think and it is destroying a lot of lives, regardless of whether it leads to suicide or not. Thus, we the people, represented by the House and the Senate it is not okay for the federal government to protect under the first amendment of free speech.
