Petition for a VIP Airport Entrance to Ensure the Safety of Public Figures in South Korea
To: The Government of South Korea, Incheon International Airport, Gimpo International Airport Authorities and Related Officials
Subject: Implementing a Dedicated VIP Entrance at South Korean Airports for the Safety of Public Figures
Dear Officials,
South Korea has become a global cultural powerhouse, known for its incredibly talented artists, actors and entertainers who continue to inspire and bring joy to millions around the world.
From K-pop to K-dramas, film and sports, these individuals have put South Korea at the heart of international entertainment, fostering cultural exchange and admiration worldwide.
As fans and supporters from across the globe, we are immensely grateful for their hard work, passion and dedication. However, with this well-deserved global recognition comes an urgent responsibility—to ensure their safety and well-being, especially during travel.
We, the undersigned, urge the South Korean government and airport authorities to establish a dedicated VIP entrance at major international airports such as Incheon International Airport and Gimpo Airport to ensure the safety and well-being of public figures arriving in South Korea.
South Korea is home to world-renowned artists, actors, athletes and public figures who frequently travel abroad for schedules and return to overwhelming airport environments. While we understand and appreciate the passion of fans, the increasing crowd-related incidents at airports pose serious safety risks—not only to the artists but also to airport staff, media personnel and bystanders.
Recent Incident:
On March 16, 2025, the internationally acclaimed group Stray Kids faced a dangerous crowd surge upon their return from Japan. Videos from that day show excessive pushing, blocked walkways and security struggling to maintain order. This is not an isolated event—many artists have faced similar situations, including injuries and severe discomfort, due to lack of controlled entry points.
More incidents:
2024 - BLACKPINK's Jisoo faced a similar situation where a throng of fans caused significant congestion. The dense crowd raised concerns about potential safety hazards during celebrity arrivals and departures.
2024 - Actress Kim Ji-won encountered a chaotic scene at when a large group of fans gathered to see her. The overwhelming crowding resulted in pushing and shoving.
2023 - BTS members Jimin and Jungkook were mobbed by fans upon arrival at the Airport. The crowd's intensity led to Jungkook being physically pushed.
2019 - BTS Jungkook fell after being pushed by fans trying to get close.
2018 - Wanna One faced chaos at the Airport, where fans pushed against barriers, breaking them.
2016 - EXO – Kai and Sehun Nearly Trampled, EXO was returning from an overseas schedule when fans surged toward them at the airport. Kai was visibly struggling to stay upright, and Sehun had to physically push through to escape. Security was overwhelmed, and members pleaded for fans to calm down.
Why a VIP Entrance is Necessary:
Ensures Safety – Prevents injuries to artists, staff and passengers.
Reduces Chaos – Allows smooth airport operations without disruptions.
Respects Privacy – Provides a secure and controlled environment.
Enhances South Korea’s Image – Shows commitment to the safety of public figures.
Countries like Japan, China, and the United States have implemented dedicated VIP exits to ensure the safe passage of high-profile individuals. As South Korea continues to lead in entertainment and global influence, it is time to prioritize safety measures for the figures who contribute significantly to the nation’s cultural and economic growth.
We respectfully urge the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Incheon Airport Authority, Gimpo Airport and related officials to consider constructing a secure VIP entrance to protect public figures, staff and travelers from potential harm.
Please sign and share this petition to advocate for a safer, more organized airport environment for everyone.
Sincerely
